LA FETE DE LA NATURE
Wednesday 20 May, 3pm to 5pm > Discover a green lung between the village and the beach.
Between lakes, shady paths and vast meadows, the Parc de la Prade offers a veritable haven of nature on the outskirts of the town. This peaceful area combines relaxation, the discovery of biodiversity and conviviality. An open-air garden open all year round.
During the Fête de la Nature, families are invited to explore the natural riches of the park and the region through a wide range of activities.
– The Ortaffa honey cooperative
This activity, supervised by a professional beekeeper, will include a theoretical part on the role of bees, the organisation of the hive, observation of the honeycomb and how honey is made. This will be followed by a practical section on making beeswax candles.
The aim is to teach as many people as possible about this fascinating insect, and how to protect and respect it.
– The Labelbleu association
The activity leader invites you to enjoy a friendly walk punctuated by short nature stories and sensory activities to immerse yourself in the mysteries of the life that hides beneath our feet. This will be your chance to discover “the little beasts”, their precious role and their surprising habits.
– Tambouilles and Vadrouilles
This activity combines plant discovery and culinary pleasures: a fun game to learn how to recognise different species, followed by a culinary tasting. It’s a fun way to learn about plants while delighting your taste buds.
– The Tech snail
A snail discovery stand will feature an observation park, a journey through the history of snails around the world, and a meeting with a snail farmer and member of the Confrérie de l’Escargot du Roussillon.
– Little seeds on the move
Visitors will be invited to create delicate plant prints on self-hardening paste medallions. They will be able to select seasonal flowers and herbs picked in the Parc de la Prade, then press them onto their medallions to preserve the traces.
They will then make vegetable inks from natural elements to decorate and paint their creations.
Finally, there will be a fun discovery of anemophilous and entomophilous plant pollination. A little observation game will help them learn to distinguish between the two.
– Land’art workshop “The wishing tree
Join the whole family for a land art workshop to paint and decorate a large wishing tree, which will then be exhibited in the Jardin des Plantes during the summer season.
This creative workshop will be supervised by the cultural animators of the Saint-Cyprien Collections.
