The Saint-Cyprien Collections were established from the legacy of painter François Desnoyer (1894–1972), who moved to Sète in 1945 and passed away in Saint-Cyprien. Close to Jean Olibo, the visionary mayor he met in 1963, he created his own foundation in the town on his recommendation.
