Julien Laporte was born in 1995 in Perpignan. The son of winegrowers, he spent his childhood overlooking the Mediterranean. A graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Julien set up his studio in his hometown, where he cultivates an instinctive and luminous body of work, like a tribute to the South in its entirety, without boundaries. In the style of a contemporary Fauvist, the artist captures landscapes and scenes of everyday life; with a swift, generous stroke of the pencil to capture the elusive, and a palette nourished by vitamin D. Like an invitation to travel – a flâneur, contemplative, at times meditative – the artist shares his imagination with us.
